ENCASH taps Globe for ATMs

ENCASH taps Globe for ATMs

INDEPENDENT ATM deployer Electronic Network Cash Tellers, Inc.
(ENCASH) has partnered with telecommunication company Globe Telecom, Inc. (Globe) to enhance its automated teller machine services.

ENCASH has incorporated Globe’s virtual private network (VPN) into its ATMs to better monitor their performance.

Jose M. Valdes, ENCASH director for operations, in an interview said “the ATM business requires dispensing money, so making sure that your ATM network is secure and working is the priority.”

“Through Globe’s VPN we will be able to monitor the status of our ATMs in remote areas and make sure that transactions are done in a fast and secure manner,” he added.

Globe’s VPN is a wireless connectivity solution for companies that require connectivity from their headquarters to other sites where they are located.

As the VPN is installed in ENCASH’s ATM units, ENCASH can check if its ATMs are dispensing money and how much they have dispensed, among others.

The technology is internet-based, which allows real-time connection.

ENCASH currently has 293 ATM units deployed in various provinces nationwide. Mr. Valdes said ENCASH targets to put up 400 ATMs by the end of the year and 700 ATMs by 2012. -- ARRG
